Age Eligibility and Children

The adult-only service rule and how accidental child data is handled.

Effective 6 September 2026Australian servicePlain-language policy
Important: These policies preserve rights that cannot legally be excluded. They do not make MMIO a clinical or emergency service.

Adult-only service

MMIO consumer memberships and private workspaces are currently intended for adults aged 18 and over. A person confirms that they meet this requirement when purchasing.

Why this boundary exists

Children and young people require different consent, safeguarding, developmental, family, privacy, clinical-escalation and content-governance arrangements. MMIO has not represented the current product as a child mental-health service.

Parents, guardians and professionals

An adult must not create an ordinary consumer account for a child, enter a child’s health information into the adult’s private workspace, or rely on MMIO as a substitute for age-appropriate professional support. A parent, guardian or professional may read publicly available general information for their own understanding, but that does not create a service for the child.

Accidental collection

If MMIO learns that a child has created an account or that identifiable child health information has been sent without an appropriate basis, MMIO will restrict access where necessary, assess safeguarding and legal obligations, preserve only what is required, and delete or de-identify information where lawful and appropriate.

Contact support@mymindisok.com without sending additional sensitive details. Where a child is in immediate danger, use emergency or child-protection pathways rather than waiting for MMIO.

Future child or family products

MMIO will not extend the present product to children merely by changing an age sentence. A future service would require a separate model of care, age assurance, parental/young-person consent framework, safeguarding lead, privacy impact assessment, content review, complaints process, insurance and jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
