Scope of Service and Wellbeing Disclaimer

What MMIO is designed to do, what it does not do and when other help is needed.

Effective 6 September 2026Australian servicePlain-language policy
Important: These policies preserve rights that cannot legally be excluded. They do not make MMIO a clinical or emergency service.

What MMIO is

MMIO provides self-guided wellbeing education, structured tools and practical activities. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy, nursing care, medical advice, crisis monitoring or emergency services.

The platform provides practical information, structured reflection, low-demand tools, real-world activities and paced learning intended to help adults identify a next useful step and build a personal toolkit.

The service can complement, but does not replace, appropriate relationships with a general practitioner, psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor, nurse, allied-health professional, pharmacist, social worker, lawyer, financial adviser, emergency service or other qualified person.

What MMIO is not

  • It is not a diagnostic or assessment service.
  • It is not medical, psychiatric, psychological, counselling or nursing treatment.
  • It does not prescribe, change or supervise medication.
  • It does not monitor members, private notes, inactivity or risk in real time.
  • It is not an emergency response, crisis line or suicide-prevention service.
  • It does not create a therapeutic, clinical or nursing-care relationship.
  • It does not provide individual legal, financial, employment or relationship-safety advice.

General information cannot know your circumstances

A technique that is useful for many people can be unsuitable in a particular body, pregnancy, disability, injury, trauma response, culture, relationship, workplace or environment. Cautions and alternatives reduce risk but cannot replace individual assessment.

Do not use MMIO to decide whether a new or worsening physical symptom is “just anxiety” or psychological. Seek appropriate medical assessment. Do not use a communication, boundary or repair exercise where coercion, violence, stalking, abuse, contact restrictions or a serious power imbalance makes direct action unsafe.

Your choices while using the service

You may stop, skip, reduce the depth, choose an alternative or return later. There is no requirement to complete a tool. If an exercise increases distress, pain, dizziness, agitation, conflict or danger, stop and use a safer route.

Evidence-informed does not mean guaranteed

MMIO adapts ideas from research, public guidance and behaviour-change science with documented boundaries. Evidence for an underlying technique does not prove that the complete MMIO product will produce a clinical outcome. MMIO does not claim that purchase or completion treats, cures or prevents a mental disorder unless the specific finished product has been appropriately evaluated and the claim is lawful.

When to use other help

Use professional or urgent help where distress is persistent, severe, worsening, linked with self-harm, suicide, psychosis, mania, substance withdrawal, abuse, violence, inability to care for basic needs, medication concerns, significant physical symptoms or any situation that feels beyond self-guided support.

If there is immediate danger in Australia, call 000. See the Safety, Crisis and Emergency Policy for other support routes.
